Charles was raised between two very different worlds – the bustling high-density township of Kuwadzana and the open skies of rural Goromonzi in Zimbabwe. He grew up far from boardrooms and formal strategy sessions. But his foundations were being formed all the same.
His first education took shape outdoors, well beyond any classroom. That is where he learnt to read the land, drawing from nature’s resourcefulness and rhythm. Through passed-down knowledge and personal instinct, he absorbed early lessons in observation, adaptation, and innovation. Without knowing it, he was already being shaped into a systems thinker – one who listens first, responds wisely, and builds with intention.
Before he ever led a team, Charles herded his grandmother’s cattle. He tilled the land by hand, long before fibre cables traced those same furrows, carrying possibility. He stood on the summit of Chinihe with mist wrapped around him, not knowing that one day wireless signals would cross that same silence and connect continents. And in the valley below, where the Nyagui River flows, he cast lines for bream – unaware that water, its flow and its loss, would later become a part of his work.
In that quiet place, untouched by formal instruction, was planted the seed to one day build value chains, robust networks, and a company designed to endure. Long before anything materialised, Charles memorised the order he still lives by: Dream. Believe. Speak. Build.
He did not inherit capital. He uncovered a blueprint. And from that, a mind that knows how to turn any constraint into creativity.
